FDM support materials are available in breakaway and soluble forms and enable the creation of complex parts. Overhangs, meshing parts, and small intricate features are possible with support materials that work in tandem with model materials to create your parts. Soluble support is removed in a solution of heated water and a cleaning agent. Breakaway supports are removed manually.

The model material being printed determines which support material, soluble or breakaway, that can be used with it.
