Including improved mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance. It can also be used to achieve decorative finishes or simulate the appearance of other materials, making it a versatile technique.

This shielding is crucial in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, electronics, and telecommunications, where sensitive electronic components must be protected from external electromagnetic radiation or must prevent their own emissions from interfering with nearby devices.

Refers to a specialized coating applied to the interior surfaces of fuel tanks, typically in aerospace applications, to prevent fuel leakage and inhibit corrosion.

Involves the process of applying a layer of metal onto the surface of a part. This process can be used to enhance the appearance, mechanical properties, or functionality of the printed part.

The process of applying identification marks, logos, serial numbers, or other information directly onto the surface of the printed object using ink-based methods. This is often done for purposes of traceability, quality control, branding, or compliance with industry regulations.

Involves achieving a consistent color between the part and any additional painted surfaces or coatings applied to it. This process is essential for maintaining visual uniformity and aesthetic appeal in finished products.

Versatile printing process used to apply detailed graphics, logos, text, or other designs onto the surface of three-dimensional objects.

Integrating additional components, such as metal inserts, threaded inserts, nuts, bolts, screws, or other fasteners, into the printed part to enhance its functionality, strength, or assembly capabilities

Hand Sanding Finishing | Stratasys Direct

Finishing

We understand that each project is unique, which is why we offer a comprehensive range of finishing options tailored to meet our customers' specific requirements.

For those who prefer to handle their own finishing or require CAD reviews for fit, form, and function, our machined finish parts are the perfect choice. These unfinished parts eliminate the need for stair step or build line removal, streamlining your workflow.

For a more refined finish, we provide expert hand-finished options. Our services include Outside Only and Inside and Out finishes, where parts undergo meticulous hand sanding to remove all stair steps and build lines.

At Stratasys Direct, our goal is to meet your requirements and exceed your expectations. Whether you need minimal post-processing or a polished, refined finish, we have the capabilities to deliver exactly what you need.

Surface Treatment

Stratasys Direct provides a range of surface treatment options for various 3D printing technologies. These treatments cater to different needs and preferences, ensuring your parts meet your exact specifications.

Additionally, we provide other special finishes and coatings upon request, ensuring your parts meet your specific requirements. Contact our team to discuss your needs further.

Smithsonian Jefferson Case Study Build & Finish | Stratasys Direct

Stratasys Direct Partnered with the Smithsonian

Stratasys Direct played a crucial role in creating a life-size 3D model of Thomas Jefferson for the exhibition “Slavery at Jefferson’s Monticello: Paradox of Liberty.” 3D laser scans of the existing Monticello statue were used to create a digital model, which was split into four parts for printing by engineers at Stratasys Direct. The finished model, made from black M30 material, underwent a customized finishing process to achieve a bronze effect, showcasing the company's commitment to finding the right 3D technology and finishing solutions.
